Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Wednesday denied claims made in court by ex-DAS director Jorge Noquera that Uribe received periodic reports on trade union activities throughout the country, reported radio station LA.fm.
President Uribe was responding to Noguera’s assertion on Tuesday that all reports made by the security agency concerning anti-governmental activity had gone directly to Colombian government center Casa de Narino.
Uribe publicly denied all knowledge of the agency’s wiretapping activities, which Noguera assured the court on Tuesday were only undertaken as part of a duty to maintain public order.
