Uribe falls off a horse

Former Colombian President Alvaro Uribe took time out from his busy schedule of tweeting and defending allegedly corrupt former officials to fall off a horse.

The 2002-2010 president tumbled on Friday while frolicking in the city of Monteria, capital of northern Cordoba Department, close to where he owns a ranch.

The ex-leader’s son Jeronimo Uribe told Associated Press he had fallen on to his chest, but had not sustained serious injuries.

The news broke when current Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos posted a message on Twitter offering his best wishes to his predecessor.
