‘The Twin’ says Colombian airforce backed AUC attacks on FARC

The Colombian air force helped right wing paramilitary organization AUC
in battles against the FARC, arrested drug lord and former paramilitary
Miguel Ángel ‘The Twin’ Mejía Múnera said Tuesday.

“At one point when the pressure of the guerrillas on us was very strong, commander ‘Martín’ requested our troops were supported by K-fir airplanes of the air force,” Mejía told the prosecution during one of his public hearings.

“thirty or forty minutes later two K-fir planes arrived to first inspect the zone and then conduct a phased bombing,” the Twin added.

Mejía was arrested in earlier this year just days after police killed his twin brother. The two were responsible for a significant part of the drug trafficking in northern Colombia, the police say.
