The Skatalites return to Colombia

Jamaican ska mammoths the Skatalites return to Colombia’s capital
Bogota on June 13 for a show full of the music that made Jamaican
culture what it is today.

The ska band was founded in 1964 of eleven musicians. 45 years later The Skatalites count nine members and are still the most important Jamacain band of all time. They won two Grammies in 1996 and 1997.

While most of the original members of the band already are dead, their live performances are still considered one of the highlights of Jamaican musical culture.

The fathers of ska, reggea and rocksteady are due to play at the Metro Theater in Bogota.
