The Rapture come to Bogota

New York post-punk band The Rapture come to Colombia for two shows in a Bogota record store on January 18 and 19.

The shows are part of a tour to promote the group’s latest album “In the Grace of your Love”. The concerts mark the second time the group have played in Bogota’s Armando Records. They played a DJ set during a single show there in March 2010.

The new album was released in September 2011 after a five-year hiatus. It follows their two previous studio albums “Echoes” and “Pieces of the People we Love”, both of which were critically acclaimed.

Founded in New York City in 1998, the group were among the main proponents of the post-punk revival of the early 2000’s, with their sound being described as a fusion of acid house, disco, electronic and rock.

Tickets for the concerts are priced at COP $80,000 ($42), and are available from Armando Records in Bogota, Calle 85 #14-46, Piso 4.
