Family members of murdered or disappeared Colombians, students and supporters of the opposition demanded attention for the many victims of the violence and plead for restitution for the suffering caused by the violence. The turnout was lower than the anti-Farc march a few weeks ago, when four million Colombians protested against the kidnappings and violence caused by leftist guerrillas. “This march is much more politicized. Many people do support the cause of the march, but do not want to support either the government or the opposition” says Arleison Arcos, professor Politicology at the University of Antioquia in Medellín.
