A 19-year-old Colombian girl was found naked and beaten in the area around North Canton, in Bogota, on Wednesday night, El Espectador reported Thursday.
The girl was taken to Simon Bolivar Hospital where she is reported to be recovering from her injuries. Initial reports from authorities indicate that she had been drugged with scopolomine, a drug usually associated with the treatment of nausea, but one that was formerly purchased as an over-the-counter sedative.
The girl has had psychological problems and had been previously treated for schizophrenia.
Authorities are carrying out tests to determine whether she was sexually abused, while the Technical Investigation Team of the Prosecutor General’s Office is investigating who is responsible for attacking the young woman.
