Teachers with flu symptons dismissed

In an attempt to stop the spreading of the AH1N1 virus, Colombian teachers who show signs of flu are not allowed to go to work.

Earlier, Colombian authorities called on parents to keep their children at home if they showed any flu-like symptoms to avoid a possible spreading of the virus that killed fifteen in Mexico and one in the United States so far.

So far, there is not one confirmed AH1N1 case in Colombia. The Colombian government is still waiting for the lab results that will give clarity about the exact illness of the 29 people being monitored for allegedly suffering from AH1N1.

The unconfirmed cases are kept under supervision of health authorities in teh capital Bogotá and the Antioquia department.
