Swine flu killed 141 in Colombia so far

Colombian authorities announced Wednesday that since May 141 people died of swine flu or AH1N1. 2,980 Colombians were confirmed to have contracted the virus.

The country’s Social Welfare Ministry reports weekly on the advances of the pandemic virus that spread throughout the world.

In it’s latest statement, the Ministry announces that “until November 8, in Colombia 2,980 confirmed AH1N1 cases were reported, including 141 fatalities.”

The virus has spread to 31 of the 32 departments, the statement added.

Most affected by the virus is the capital Bogota, where 1,586 patients were confirmed to carry the virus and 66 people died.
