Supreme Court drops ‘farcpolitics’ case against VP of Congress

Colombia news - alexander lopez

The Supreme Court refused to open a case against the vice president of Congress for ties to the leftist guerrilla group FARC.

According to various Colombian media, the Supreme Court did not find any evidence against Polo Democratico Senator Alexander Lopez.

Lopez told newspaper El Tiempo that he will meet with members of the Polo Democratico Party to discuss his options for legal retaliation against what he considers to be conspiracy devised by the administration of former President Alvaro Uribe against the opposition.

“I was the target and object of many accusations from DAS (Colombia’s intelligence agency),” Lopez asserted.
