Stolen donkey gets thieves in more trouble than they bargained for

A group of thieves were thwarted after one of their accomplices, a very disagreeing donkey, gave them away.

According to local media, the group managed to steal goods from a small store in the tiny north Caribbean town of Juan de Acosta. The next part of their plan was to load the goods onto a stolen 10-year-old donkey, reportedly named Xavi, and make their great escape.

The thieves allegedly took several bottles of rum, oil, rice, cans of tuna and sardines among other provisions, and strap them onto the back of Xavi.

Not everything went according to plan, however, as the animal began to bray loud enough to alert police who, with relative ease, caught up with the disgruntled ass and recovered the stolen products.
