Bogota officials to testify over corruption allegations

The State Council announced that it will summon eight current and former Bogota officials including Mayor Samuel Moreno to testify over alleged back-room dealings in public works projects, W Radio reported Wednesday

Among those summoned are congressman German Olano, Mayor Moreno, county comptroller Miguel Angel Moralesrussi, and the director and former director of the Urban Development Institute Nestor Eugenio Ramirez and Liliana Pardo.

Other city officials and officials will also be called to testify.

Proceedings have begun in the oral courts against officials from Colombia’s capital who are accused of fraudulently awarding public works contracts to Colombian construction firm the Nule Group.

W Radio reports that the testimony will take place from February 9 to February 23.
