The son of Colombia’s ex-President Alvaro Uribe married his long-term girlfriend in Barranquilla Saturday.
Jeronimo Uribe and Shadia Farah Abuchaibe had been a couple for two years prior to the wedding.
The event itself was closed to the press, but media caught the arrival of several of the event’s well-known guests, including actress Isabel Sofia Cabrales and, of course, the controversial former president.
In a rare move from Uribe, the 2002-2010 president did not use the media spotlight to defend one of the many officials from his tenure now accused of corruption or paramilitary ties.
The couple will be taking their honeymoon in Thailand.
