Colombia’s Supreme Court revoked the house arrest of former senator Yidis Medina for violating the terms of her detention.
According to the court, the former senator – convicted for accepting government bribes to approve the 2006 re-election of former President Alvaro Uribe – was not at home when officials came on inspection on October 23. The disgraced senator did not arrive home until the next morning.
Medina was sentenced to more than four years in jail and a $267,000 fine, but was allowed to complete her sentence at home because she has an underage son.
