The popularity of Colombia President Juan Manuel Santos has bounced back after a dip in December, a poll revealed Wednesday.
According to Datexco, one of the four companies monitoring the president’s approval, Santos can count on the approval of 60% of those interviewed in Colombia’s 13 largest cities.

The rating is a significant rise from December when the president’s popularity dropped to 49 following a world court ruling granting Caribbean waters claimed by Colombia to Nicaragua.
Of the respondents, 40% told Datexco that if elections were to be held today they would vote to reelect Santos as president.

41% said that they would vote for congressional candidates backed by former President Alvaro Uribe who has been fiercely opposing his successor and former ally.
Colombia will hold both presidential and congressional elections next year.
