Santa Rosa de Osos rejects massacre

Hundreds take to the streets of the village of Santa Rosa de Osos Saturday to reject the recent massacre of ten farm workers and demand protection from illegal armed groups.

The main square of the village in the center of the Antioquia department filled with protesters dressed in white carrying colored balloons, in a demonstration against violence perpetrated by neoparamilitary groups and drug traffickers.

The protesters were joined by Governor Sergio Fajardo and other government officials.

According to the governor, Wednesday’s massacre left “a deep wound.”

The demonstrators demanded of the Governor’s Office and other government bodies more protection from violence from illegal armed groups.
