Santa Fe crush Millonarios in Bogota soccer derby

Sante Fe defeated Millonarios 4-2 in the Bogota derby, pushing the blue team from the capital even further down the Copa Mustang ranking.

Bogota’s ‘reds’ started off the game with a visible lust to win and took no more than 5 minutes to take the lead through a goal by Omar Perez.

Millonarios seem to have mo response to the goal and allowed Santa Fe to continue dominating the game, resulting in a second goal, this time by Julio Gutierrez.

Realizing that it held the losing hand of the classic, Millonarios started to counter attack. A hand ball in the penalty area before the Santa Fe goal gave Millonarios a penalty kick, which they took advantage of. Omar Vasquez added to Millonarios’ first goal, making it 2-2 on El Campin’s scoreboard.

Millonarios seemed to have regained control of the game in the second half, but was not able to keep their defense in tact and Santa Fe scored two more goals; both by Mario Gonzalez.
