River Plate joins bid for Jackson Martinez

Argentina’s River Plate joined the bid for Independiente Medellin striker Jackson Martinez, newspaper El Espectador reported on Friday. South Korea’s Ulsan and Argentina’s Racing are also in the race.

Jackson, Colombia’s most successful striker the past year and voted best player of the year, reportedly is also wanted by U.K. Premiere League side Wigan.

Ulsan so far is the only club that has made an official offer; US$2.5 million to be paid in January.
