Former Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita remains in stable condition
after being admitted to a Medellin hospital on Thursday, hospital
officials report.
“The patient is stable and is still suffering from what he was hospitalized for. His doctor ordered several exams to determine the origin of the headache that is affecting him,” according to Jesus Hernando Palacio of Medellin’s San Vicente de Paul hospital.
Higuita, 42, was admitted to Rionegro’s San Juan de Dios hospital on Thursday, to eventually end up at San Vicente de Paul where he is currently receiving treatment.
Fellow former soccer player Diego Leon Osorio, one of many visitors in the past few days, said that Higuita “was initially worried and depressed, but after chatting for a while he improved”.
Higuita is internationally famed for his ‘Scorpion Kick’, which he performed during a friendly match with England in 1995.
