Rat paralyzes Foreign Ministry’s visa office

A rat nibbling on cables caused a blackout at the visa office of Colombia’s Foreign Ministry in the capital Bogota, sources told Caracol Radio Tuesday.

According to an official press release, the visa office in Bogota “will not attend to the public today, caused by an electric failure in the substation of the sector where the building is located.”

Sources within the Foreign Ministry told the radiostation that the fallout was caused by a rat that had been eating cables.
