Prosecutor general wants decision in Valencia Cossio case

The Prosecutor General’s office wants a decision from the Supreme Court in the corruption case against former Medellin chief prosecutor Guillermo Leon Valencia Cossio W Radio reported Tuesday.

Valencia Cossio was arrested in 2008 for allegedly having ties with drug lord Daniel “Don Mario” Rendon Herrera.

Over two years later the prosecutor general is asking the court for an acquittal or a conviction in the case.

Valencia Cossio, the brother of former Interior and Justice Minister Fabio Valencia Cossio, is charged with conspiracy, suppression of public documents, disclosure of secrets, and use of secret matters for illicit enrichment.
