Prosecutor General occupies DAS offices

Colombia’s Prosecutor General occupied offices and building of the
country’s intelligence service DAS after numerous accusations of
illegal wiretapping of judges, media directors and lawmakers
and
providing services for drug lords.

Employees of Colombia’s intelligence service are being investigated and police seized computers for investigation.

“We have appointed two prosecutors of the Supreme Court and ten experts for this unique investigation. Inspections will be made to find out who is ordering these investigations,” Prosecutor General Mario Iguarán said Sunday.

Felipe Muños, director of the DAS, welcomed the investigation.

The DAS is suspected of having illegally wiretapped directors and journalists of critical media, Supreme Court judges in charge of teh parapolitics investigationsand opposition politicians.
