Prosecutor demands maximum penalty for Florez

A Barranquilla prosecutor demanded Atleticor Junior player Javier
Florez to receive the maximum penalty for shooting and killing a fan
who had called him “louzy.”

This was announced at a hearing this Monday, at which the footballer denied to be guilty of murder. He did however admit to having carried a gun.

Days after losing the Copa Mustang final to Once Caldas, fans criticized Florez for his performance in that game. To retaliate, the player went home and returned with a fire arm. Reportedly, he then shot a young electrician from Barranquilla.

The maximum penalty in Colombia equals 60 years in prison. Currently, the Junior winger is 27 years old.
