Presidency’s shortlist for new Prosecutor General ready

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe handed a shortlist of three
candidates for the coming term of Prosecutor General to the Supreme
Court.

On the list are Camilo Ospina, former Defense Minister and Colombia’s ambassador to the Organization of American States, Virginia Uribe, the President’s former personal lawyer, and Juan Angel Palacio, former magistrate of the State Council.

From the shortlist, the Supreme Court will now have to choose the successor of Prosecutor General Mario Iguarán, whose term ends the end of July.
