Police will not be intimidated by ‘Don Mario’: Naranjo

Colombia’s Police will not be intimidated by the two million pesos
(US$ 1,000) reward that alleged drug lord ‘Don Mario’ promised for every killed member of the
security forces, National Police commander Oscar Naranjo said Saturday.

According to the general, his men were not intimidated and are willing to continue the fight against organized crime in Colombia.

Naranjo announced Friday that Daniel ‘Don Mario’ Rendón had declared war with the security forces and had commanded his men to attack any policeman or army official regardless the circumstance.

Naranjo, who moved his office temporarily to Colombia’s second largest city Medellín to battle an upsurge of crime, said 500 men from the Special Forces were available to combat the mafia.
