Police warn of thieves in Medellin airports

Police in Medellin’s international airport have caught a family stealing tourist luggage, Colombian media reports.

The thieves reportedly targeted careless travellers who left their luggage and personal belongings unwatched, stealing cash, credit cards and jewelery.

The gang, comprising a father, son and daughter, were caught on security cameras at Medellin’s International Jose Maria Cordoba airport, and apprehended while carrying the stolen goods.

Meanwhile local representatives from Colombian airline Satena confirmed that on Tuesday night a group of armed thieves stole over $16,000 from Medellin’s domestic Olaya Herrera aiport.
