Colombian police seize nearly a half ton of cocaine

Colombian anti-narcotic authorities seize nearly a half ton of cocaine, reported news network CM& Monday.

Three separate cocaine deliveries were intercepted as they headed for the Panamanian, Venezuelan, and Ecuadorian borders.

The Colombian Narcotics Directorate (DIRAN) said in a statement that 333kg of cocaine was found in the metal walls of a box truck that was on its way from Medellin to the coastal town of Capurgana, a launch point for drugs traveling to Panama and Central American countries.

A third delivery of 16 kilos of cocaine was stopped on its way to southern town of Tuquerres near the border of Ecuador.

Police claim the drugs belonged to neo-paramiltary successors of the AUC.
