Colombian police destroyed a giant cocaine lab they found in the north
of Antioquia. The lab allegedly was able to produce 2 tons of the drug
monthly.
The laboratory was found in the town of Tarazá, where the production and processing of coca has been a significant part of the local economy for decades.
In the lab, police found 16 tons of chemical products, 7,000 liters of liquids used for the production of cocaine, but only 11 kilos of the drug itself.
Authorities say the lab belonged to drug gang los Paisas.
