Aerogal plane makes emergency landing in Cali

An Aerogal flight traveling from Quito to Bogota made an emergency landing in Cali on Thursday, but all 34 passengers and five crew members escaped unharmed, reports Semana.

The Ecuadorian Boeing 737 experienced pressurization faults during the flight and the crew decided to land at Cali’s Alfonso Bonilla Aragon airport.

This is the fourth incident so far in May, which is shaping up to be a bad month for Colombian civil aviation.

On May 4, five people were injured when an Avianca Fokker 100 plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Bogota’s El Dorado airport.

The next day a Satena corporate jet went off the runway at Mitu airport in the Vaupes Department, when the plane’s braking system failed, but the pilot was able to avoid injury to the passengers.

An Aires flight from Bogota to Neiva, south-west Colombia, had to return to its destination due to engine failure on May 6.
