Once Caldas win Colombian Liga Postobon

Once Caldas of Manizales have won the 2010 Liga Postobon II following a 4-3 aggregate victory over Deportes Tolima in the final.

After losing the first leg 2-1, things did not look good for Once Caldas who now needed a win in the return leg to at least level the aggregate score.

The home side scored the opener just before the half time whistle, with Jaime Castrillon beating goalkeeper Antony Silva from close range.

Eight minutes after the break, poor defense from the visiting side allowed Fernando Uribe to make it 2-0 after a long pass from midfield.

Once Caldas continued to dominate and got their third goal through Wilson Mena in the 76th.

Danny Aguilar pulled one back with a header ten minutes later, 3-1, but Once Caldas remained focused and managed to keep possession throughout most of the remaining minutes.

This is Once Caldas’ fourth national title, after having won the title before in 1950, 2003 and most recently in 2009.
