Once Caldas waste points in Copa Libertadores

Once Caldas continue to struggle in the Copa Libertadores, conceding a last-gasp equalizer to be held to a 1-1 draw by Paraguay’s Libertad.

After losing their opening game to Universidad San Martin, pressure was on Once Caldas to do better in with Libertad. The Paraguayans had less pressure to deal with after beating San Luis in their first group game.

Dayro Moreno put Once Caldas in the lead after 29 minutes at Manizales’ Palogrande stadium, a goal that seemed to lead the Colombians to their first win of the tournament.

But in added time, a goal from Victor Ayala silenced the home crowd and cost Once Caldas two vital points.

Once Caldas climb to third place in Group 1, behind Universidad San Martin and Libertad. San Luis drop to last place.
