Nule directors transferred to prison

The three directors of disgraced construction company Nule Group have been transferred to a Bogota prison Saturday, several media reported.

Guido, Manuel and Miguel Nule spent the past weeks in a holding cell in the office of the Prosecutor General after being indicted for their responsibility in a massive corruption scandal that has implicated Bogota mayor Samuel Moreno and his brother, Senator Ivan Moreno, both members of the socialist Polo Democratico party.

According to the charges, the Nule Group paid commissions to government officials if granted public works and were receiving more money if these public works were delayed and the cost of the projects rose.

The three cousins will have to stand trial for bribery and illicit enrichment.
