New judge elected to Constitutional Court

Lawyer Nestor Raul Correa is selected to be a judge on Colombia’s Constitutional Court, Colombian media reported Thursday.

Correa will fill the vacant spot on the High Judiciary Council, taking the place of Judge Jesael Giraldo.

Before reaching a final decision, court members considered five candidates for the post.

The lawyer, from Medellin’s Pontificia Bolivariana University (UPB), formerly served on the judicial branch as assistant to Court judge Alejandro Martinez Caballero.
