Netherlands’ royal family to visit Colombia: Report

The king and queen of the Netherlands will be visiting Colombia in November, Dutch public television reported Tuesday.

According to television network NOS, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima will be visiting Colombia as part of a trip that will take the royal couple to Venezuela and the Netherlands Antilles, a group of islands in the Caribbean that are part of the kingdom.

The NOS reported that the Dutch state information agency has not confirmed the trip, but that sources within the government confirmed the couple’s itinerary. The Dutch embassy in Bogota was not immediately able to comment.

The visit to Venezuela and Colombia will take place after November 21, reported NOS.

According to Colombia’s central bank, the Netherlands is the tenth largest investor in Colombia since 1994.
