Nephew of infamous drug lord ‘Cuchillo’ turns himself in

An alleged key member of the neo-paramilitary group ERPAC and nephew of the slain drug lord “Cuchillo” has turned himself in to authorities, El Espectador reported on Friday.

Cristian Rodriguez, known as “Junior” willingly surrendered himself to authorities in the town of Villavicencio, Meta on Friday.

Junior allegedly was the chief financial officer of the neo-paramilitary group ERPAC and in charge of paying the salaries of hitmen and collaborators involved with the criminal organization.

His uncle Cuchillo was one of Colombia’s most wanted drug lords when he died in December 2010.

Earlier this week the organization suffered another heavy blow after it was reported that two key ERPAC members, Jose Alexander Vargas Velasco, alias “El Politico,” and Ever Santos Molina Mejia, alias “Calabre,” had been arrested.
