Colombian navy seizes $17M in cocaine from speedboat

The Colombian navy on Thursday seized 680 kilograms of cocaine, valuing approximately $17 million, from a speedboat off the coast of the northwestern Choco department.

Colombian coast guards first spotted the speedboat about two nautical miles northeast of Cabo Marzo, Choco and allegedly heading towards Central America. The speedboat tried to flee but was intercepted by the Colombian navy.

Along with the seizure of over 680 kilograms of the narcotic, navy personnel also arrested three suspects, charging them with fabrication, possession and transport of narcotics.
