MTV to shoot Bad Girls telenovela in Bogota

MTV music channel is to take its first major plunge into the lucrative Latin American telenovela market with its upcoming “Niñas Mal,” “Bad Girls,” which will be shot on location in Bogota, Colombia.

The show, which will premier later this year, follows three young upper-class girls as they rebel against an exclusive finishing school they’re forced by their parents to attend, reports El Espectador.

“Bad Girls will give viewers the opportunity to follow the lives and adventures of a group of girls. They are required to build relationships and interact with each other to cope with their new realities,” said Fernando Gaston, senior vice president of content at MTV/VH1 Latin America.

The 70 episode show begins filming in Bogota on June 30.
