Colombian authorities reported Tuesday that more than 4,500 people are
affected by heavy rains and floods in the country, especially in the
departments of Antioquia and Cordoba.
Some 1,400 people were forced to leave their homes in the south of
Cordoba after the Son Jorge river flooded, Director of the Office for Disaster Prevention, Benjamin Collante, told Radio Caracol.
Further 1,400 people in Saragoza and 1,500 in Bagre are affected by heavy rains, both municipality are in the Antioquia department.
Collante said that all local emergency committees remain on high alert to reduce the impact on the population.
There are no reports of deaths or injuries caused by floods.
