‘Mono Jojoy’ dealt another blow

FARC commander ‘Mono Jojoy’ was dealt another serious blow Friday when
Colombian authorities claimed the arrest of María Lilian Castellanos
Poveda, his assumed financial chief.

According to the authorities, Castellanos was in charge of the contacts between drug traffickers and the FARC fronts 10 and 45 and that of the Eastern Bloc, led by ‘Mono Jojoy’.

The United States has Castellanos Poveda on its extradition wish list to stand trial on drug trafficking charges.

The Colombian security forces have been putting pressure on the FARC’s Eastern Bloc that already has led to the death and capture of several dozens of guerrillas.
