DNP Mining is a big money maker for FARC, document shows

The extortion of mining firms is a lucrative business for rebel group FARC, according to a document obtained by Caracol radio.

The email, presented live on radio 6AM Wednesday, gives details regarding how much mining firms were obliged to pay FARC and also implicates the ELN in the extortion business.

“The land owner pays guerrillas 25% of what they receive in tax for the land.”

“All miners contribute $2.75 a month. The mule drivers that transport
