The Medellin Flower Festival’s main musical event “Parque Cultural Nocturno,” will see 23 artists and groups from six different musical genres take the stage over six nights.
Starting on Sunday August 1, the event kicks off with “Negra Noche,” a night dedicated entirely to Afro-Colombian musicians. The following night will feature classical music and dance, and Tuesday August 3 will be dedicated to jazz and contemporary music.
Wednesday August 4 will see a variety of musicians take the stage, including traditional Colombian music star Martina Camargo, in a night touted as “The Festival of Festivals.” Friday August 6 is set aside for traditional “son” and “bolero” musicians and the final evening on Sunday August 8 will be dedicated to protest music.
The festival’s organizers estimate that around 2,000 people will attend each night to watch performances by both Colombian and international musicians. Organizers consider the musical program to be “one of the most anticipated events of the Flower Festival.”
All Parque Cultural Nocturo events will be held in Medellin’s “Parque de los Pies Descalzos” (Barefoot Park) from 6PM to 12AM local time.
