Medellin preps for influx of tourists

With a COP250 million investment Medellin’s tourist information kiosks have served over 12,000 tourists this year and are prepared for an influx of tourists for the Christmas season, according to a press release.

Four information kiosks at both of Medellin’s airports, in Plaza Mayor and Pueblito Paisa, are prepared to cater to Medellin’s tourists during the Christmas season.

At these points, employees will speak fluent English and be able to assist tourists in all their needs and provide information about the city, its hostels, cultural activities, sports and dining possibilities.

As well as providing information to tourists the kiosks collect data about the people they serve. This year 57% of the tourists served have been from Colombia, about one quarter have been from Latin america and the remaining from North America and Europe.
