Medellin to host week-long theater festival

Medellin will host a week-long theater festival taking place all over the city later this month.

In over 30 different theaters and stages throughout Colombia’s second largest city, theater performances, story telling, dancing and circus acts will feature more than 1600 international, national and local artists.

The week-long “Medellin en Escena” festival kicks off Friday August 24 with the show “The Day You’ll Love Me” by Ocarina and a musical tribute to Pink Floyd by the Classicstone Ensemble accompanied by Rock Symphony Production.

Saturday August 25 there will be a “Theater Grind” marathon with more than twenty short plays, pantomimes and dances. The marathon starts at 10PM and last until the crack of dawn making it the perfect event for “night-owls, sleepwalkers, and hoodlums”.

Other highlights include a costume parade through the city center on Sunday August 26 and a theater dinner on Wednesday August 29 where art lovers can enjoy a play over food and wine.
