Medellin receives international award for public transportation

An international organization that analyzes public transportation in cities around the world announced that Medellin will receive an award for being a great example of mobility strategies.

“Medellin is a reference point and a worthy example to show everyone all the success achieved, thanks to the impact the city has had in innovative mobility solutions in improving the urban area and social cohesion.”

Cities for Mobility will present the award to Rafael Nanclares Ospina, the transit secretary of Medellin in Stuttgart, Germany.

Before receiving the award, Ospina will give a speech explaining the most important projects in Medellin and how these improvements have impacted the social, urban, and mobility conditions in the city.

The Medellin metro was recognized as the most-visited tourist attraction in the city by the secretary of tourism earlier this year.
