A Medellin-based team of engineers unveiled on Monday Colombia’s first-ever solar vehicle.
The car, which was built at EAFIT University in Medellin, is part of a global effort to research sustainable mobility in order to counter both the effects of global warming and deal with the prospect of running out of unsustainable fuels.
It will take part in a 3000 km race in Australia in October 2013 and is one of just two such vehicles engineered in South America, the other having been built in Chile.
