The undoubted highlight of Medellin’s Flower Festival, the annual flower parade, drew thousands of spectators Tuesday.

Some 500 men, women and children took part in the 55th edition of the parade through Colombia’s second largest city.

The flowers, as has become tradition, were carried on “silletas,” wooden constructions traditionally used to carry the wealthy.
