Medellin art museum launches ‘Fashion Thursdays’

Medellin’s Museum of Modern Art (MAMM) will launch “Fashion Thursdays,” a bi-monthly event for artists, fashionistas, and fans to meet and discuss art and current trends.

Fashion Thursdays will feature special guests from a wide variety of specialties such as fashion design, graphic design, culinary expertise, literature, and architecture.

“The MAMM works day after day to become a place of meeting, training, and surprise that goes beyond the exhibitions. Therefore we are constantly creating new spaces which accommodate diverse cultural expressions, that are related to modern art. Fashion – which is traditionally thought to be within the limits of textiles and clothing apparel – has been becoming an element that cuts across the everyday life of people and that intersects with other disciplines such as architecture, graphic design, cuisine, music , literature and art, among others,” the MAMM said in a press release.

The Museum of Modern Art’s first Fashion Thursday will spotlight glamorous fashion designer Catalina Sierra on September 15 at 7PM. The second Fashion Thursday in September will fall on the 22nd and feature graphic designer Christina Londoño.

The bi-monthly event will be moderated by Julian Posada and is open to everyone and anyone that loves, consumes, studies, thinks about, and lives art and fashion.
