Manu Chao confirms date for free Bogota concert

Manu Chao confirmed the date and venue for a free concert in Bogota, as part of his “Manu Chao La Ventura” tour Thursday.

The Franco-Spanish performer, who sings in French, Spanish, English and Portuguese, will appear on stage April 3 at the annual La Esperanza concert in Plaza de Bolivar along with four local bands — La Derecha, Skampida, Nawal and La Etnnia. The tour will see him play in other Latin America countries and Colombian cities prior to the Bogota date, for which 30,000 people are expected to attend.

The concert will kick off at 3pm and be aired live on TV station Canal Capital. Wristbands for entry will be available through Canal Capital’s programming, website and social networks, and through Bogota City Hall.

La Esperanza is a free concert held annually to promote diversity, plurality and inclusiveness.
