Mad Professor to dub Bogota

Dub pioneer Mad Professor is due to play Bogota on June 12. The British
Council in Colombia invited him to work on a pilot project of merging
British urban rhythms and traditional Colombian music.

Mad Professor will play in the Metro Theater in Bogota on 12 June and will “dubbing you crazy Colombian style”, the musician and record producer states on his website.

His concert is part of a contemporary music project of the British Council called Incubator. It aims to create and support a network of music producers in Latin America and the UK.

The first phase of the project in Colombia consists of a series of intensive workshops and experimental fusions of rhythms developed by British musicians and producers in co-work with Latin American peers. The project includes live concerts open to the public.

Mad Professor is one of the dub pioneers in Europe. His record studio Ariwa released over 160 albums and Mad Professor helped recording over 200 songs with artists such as Massive Attack, Beastie Boys, Jamiroquai, Depeche Mode and many others.
