Liga Postobon: First points for Nacional

Atletico Nacional defeated Deportivo Cali 2-0 in Saturday’s Colombian Liga Postobon action to earn their first three points of the season.

The first half of the Nacional versus Cali match went by without goals, and the main highlight was a second yellow card to Cali’s Luis Chara in the 45th minute.

Nacional newcomer Stalin Motta broke the deadlock in the 68th minute, six minutes after Cali had another player, Elkin Calle, sent off with a direct red card.

The nine players of Cali could not fight their way back into the game and Nacional decided the clash late on when Giovannio Moreno made it 2-0.

Envigado hosted Boyaca Chico in Saturday’s other match and won the game 1-0 thanks to a goal from Neider Morantes in the 16th minute.

On Friday, Millonarios were held to a goalless draw by Deportes Quindio at Bogota’s Campin stadium.
